9 Left-Handed Batters!

On August 20, 2011, it appears as the Oakland Athletics have made MLB history, with regards to their lineup against the Toronto Blue Jays:

Jemile Weeks (S)
Cliff Pennington (S)
Coco Crisp (S)
Hideki Matsui (L)
Brandon Allen (L)
Ryan Sweeney (L)
David DeJesus (L)
Landon Powell (S)
Eric Sogard (L)

From my research at the Baseball Reference Play Index, I could not find a single instance of 9 non-right-handed batters, from 1919 through to the present.

ETA: It was pointed out to me on Twitter that the Philadelphia Athletics did start 9 lefties (however, SP Ed Reusser was lifted for a right-handed PH before his first AB) in the first game of a double-header on Sept. 24, 1940. However, Baseball-Reference is not showing this in its results. More research to come.
